Assignment Brief

● Choosing a Bachelor Degree Program

● (ex: Business Administration, Law, Computer Science,
Computer Engineering, ….)

● Choosing Career path

● (ex: a doctor, nurse, business manager, teacher, construction
worker, investment banker, Lawyer….)

● Choosing a House to buy in GTA
● Choosing The best City in North America to move to
● Choosing a house/apt to rent in GTA
● Choosing a stock to invest base on past performance
● Choosing a car to buy in GTA from listing in facebook marketplace, kijiji, ….
● Choosing an NBA team to buy
● Comparing the top AI companies (to invest in)
● Comparing the top Social Media Platform (to advertise)

Format of the Project report:

1. Make a journal / log of each day of your project with minutes of your meeting and
work. Example: Date: Jan 1, 2021 , Start Time: _____, End Time: ____, Work done:
_______,______
2. State your hypothesis and purpose of your research
a. Why are you choosing this topic as your research
b. What is your guess of the outcome of this research
3. List out your research sources, where you could gather the data from:
a. Example: Websites such as facebook marketplace, kijiji, carguru, yahoo
finance, google finance, city official website, stats can, government job
numbers, indeed data, glassdoor data, linkedin data …..
b. Set how often you’re going to gather your data
c. Set the timeline for your data gathering (how far back or forward) of the data
you will have gathered. Example: For stocks, you want to go as far back as 5
years of historical data. For purchasing a house you would want to go back
at least 1 month. To buy a car you might want to check out at least 1 month
before the purchase date. For a degree or career path you will want to
pursue you might want to find government statistical data.

4. Set specific 5 criteria (KPI) to sort your data.
5. Sort your data using functions such as VLOOKUP, PIVOT TABLE, ..
6. Present your data in Charts, Graphs that are easy to explain and navigate
7. Write a summary of your findings. State each of the team members’ opinions, and
how you arrived at the final conclusion.
8. Make a short minimum 5 minute youtube video, showing your face and put the link in
the Excel file.
9. Everything should be embedded inside one excel file: written report, raw data,
compiled data, graphical presentation of the data, youtube link.
10. Submission by Email me at [email protected] or through
CANVAS.

Note: I only accept 1 excel file, all word objects,
powerpoint objects must be inserted in excel file.

You will be grade on the following criteria:
1. How reliable is your data source(s)
2. How relevant are you criteria (KPI) for sorting data
3. How well did you use excel formula to present your data
4. How easily read are your chart, graphs, … pivot table etc display
5. Your team work and group decision throughout the project
6. Your youtube presentation
