A. Introduction:
In this final unit, you will apply all the learningthroughout stages 4,5,6 tocreate a distinctive pieceofworkforyourdegreeproject.Yourfinalportfoliowillimplementaseriesofoutcomes thatevaluatesandanalysestheformationofyourconcept.Throughinvestigativequantitative and/orqualitive research, examiningthekey areas of yourpracticetodeliver a new business plan.
Youwillbeexpectedtoconsiderthetheoreticalandprofessionalcontextsofyourexploration. Itisimportantthatyourworkandresearcharecontemporary,innovative,andrepresentative of its target audience and industry sector.
Equipped with this knowledge, you will be able to determine a forward thinking and sustainable new business opportunity that demonstrates a process of critical evaluation and presents a suitable proposal through to final implementation.
B. Tasks:
You are required to produce two independent, but interrelated, project reports and an in-class presentation as per the task description below:
I. DegreeProjectPortfolio1–NewBusinessProposal(2500words)andin-class presentation (15 minutes) (40% weight):
- Based on your learnings for the courses you have studied as a part of the BSc (Hons)degreeinBusinessManagement,identify abusinessgapwhichoffersa promising business opportunity. A business gap is a gap in the market with an opportunity to offer something that customers desire, but businesses are currently not offering. In this context, the term “gap” refers to the difference between supply and demand for the offering.
- Yourbusinessgapidentificationshouldbesupportedbyevidencebasedonthe review of secondary sources (examples: reports, surveys, articles, etc.).
- Proposeacreativebusinessideaandclearlyexplainhowtheproposedbusiness willaddresstheidentifiedgap.Youwillbestartinganewcompany;thatis,the new offering cannot be a new product or service that will be offered by an existing company.
- The structure ofthe NewBusiness Proposal report (Portfolio 1) shouldinclude the following sections:

All materials must be properly referenced under Harvard conventions. The length required is 2500 words for Portfolio 1 and 3500 words for Portfolio 2 with tasks equally weighted.
